Big C was established in 1980 by two men from Norfolk. Both of them were diagnosed with cancer and they were not able to get the right treatment in their local area. They had to travel from Norfolk to London or Cambridge which they described as even harder than the treatment itself.

In their intention was to make sure that people after them did not have to go trough the same obstacles. Their invested in the specialist equipment for Norfolk's hospitals, which allowed many to be treated locally. They also put the money into the research to help with finding the ways in which people diagnosed with cancer can be helped.

Big Cs centers "provide valuable information about diagnosis, treatments, side effects and recovery and there are trained staff to provide emotional help, support and complimentary therapies."

They have a list of values which the staff knows and uses when communicating with each other and the community they serve. Those are:  Respect, empathy, support, trust and honesty.

On their website, Big C provides many different information including the list of people who can help with things their Board of Trustees:

What makes the charity trustworthy are all of the research, achievements, reports and plans.
They put a list of the reports from across the years which can be  read online or even printed out.

Up to 2014, Big C was uploading a newsletters that people could download. Those includes interviews with people who were affected by cancer, cancer information days, information about the donation and what amount of money was used for what, workshops, treatments and much more.

Over the time it is easily to see how much they improved. They become a well known, large and professional charity, which does its job very well and does everything to help people affected by cancer. They also make sure that they are approachable by listing all possible ways in which people can contact them for various of reasons.

They do exactly the same thing with informing people about all the different ways in which they can support the charity. It makes them seem very friendly, approachable, yet professional and large enough to provide all sorts of help for other people.

Big C gives all of the information about the equipment that they got throughout the years. They explain what it is and what it does. It also says why it is important that the local hospitals have those and how much of an impact this has on people diagnosed with cancer.

Very much the same, they do with the research that has been funded. They list different cancers and different aspects of it that has been researched. It allows people not only to know how much they helped, but also educate themselves on specific cancer and its specific factors.

Their website lists different ways in which people can get support; different information, centers, support groups or workshops.
