Exhibition and sound

Image
I would like to incooperate sound with my photogrpahy exhibition, because I always liked when going to a gallery and looking at paitings or scoulptures and in the same time being able to hear a music that goes side to side with what I am seeing. We are used to hear things as well as see them. Sometimes we close our eyes, but the sound is still there. It is such an important part of our lives. It draws paitings in our minds and gives meaning to anything that we can see along its side. I really like the idea of bringing my art to life. More than anything, I want my art to move people and make them think about it to find their own meanings and to make them think even about very different thigns, but I want it to be caused by my art. The way in which I can make it more human, more palpable is the sound. When they will look at my photogrpahs, I want them to hear what I've heard and imagine what I felt at that moment.  I thought that I could go to those places and only record the s

The April Exhibition

Image
I have contacted the person from Open, who I am going to meet on Friday the 24th of March to discuss the possible dates and other details. I am going to look at the space in which I will exhibit my work. I have also  prepared a couple of questions for Kirstie.  1. Date of the exhibition  2. If i can have a sound played in the background 3. How i could help Big C - possibilities  4. Where put the description of the exhibition  5. How taking the pieces back works.  6. Is it possible to have another one later and how to do it

The Evaluation

Image
At first i was really worried that I will not find a client. I had no idea what I wanted to do and how to find someone who would like me to work for them. My social anxiety was really hard to deal with when it came to me actually approaching a client. The first client that I had approached had not replied to me at all. It worried me a lot since I had a hard time thinking of what I could even do in the first place. Eventually I came up with another client who was really happy to work with me. Throughout the project I learned about the history of fashion photography, different styles of it and the way in which fashion photography has changed. I could apply that to my own photographs by experimenting with those styles. I learned a lot about my client, who they are and want they do. I also got to know a little bit more about the cancer and the ways in which my client helps people to deal with it. This project was the one that was not given as much time as the Script to Screen

Questions for the client

Image
As part of my evaluation, I need to get a feedback from my client. I decided to record a short interview with her, hoping that it will save some of the time. I also thought that it could look really interesting. The questions:  1. What was your first impression of Ania and the project itself ?  2. Do you feel like the communication between you and Ania was clear and professional?  3. Was working with Ania like working with someone who is a part of a real production company?  4. Did Ania deliver the final product the way she presented it in the first meeting?  5. Is the delivered project satisfactory?  6. Would you work with Ania in the future?  7. What about the April exhibition? 8. How could Ania improve? 9. Was there anything you did not like throughout the period when working with Ania?

Paper to print on

Image
Before I send the photos to the printer I have looked at different possibiliies that I had. I knew that different paper can give different effects on the photographs. I wanted to know which one sounds like the best option for me. https://www.macworld.com/article/1150076/printers/printerpaper-basics.html Gloss and Semigloss      I do not think that it would be a great idea to use this type of paper. I planned to have the photos being displayed in the Big C stores, meaning, they would be behind a glass window that would also reflect light. That way, the photos could look bad. They could even be hard to see.   If I was to use the photos in a magazine or as a leaflet, gloss would be the best option.  Matte Matte paper sounds like something I would go for. I do not want my photos to reflect the light and be uneasy to look at. I want the photos to stay the way they would look like as their digital version with all of the details and contrast.
